Humans have a body, a soul and a spirit. All three are similutaneously superimposed, a triad. Soul is the psyche or psychological with its mind, emotions and will. The human spirit has an intuition, a conscience and it communes with God and nature. Our diet effects our body directly on the biochemically level and it effects our psyche through the body. The human spirit is effected by food only through the soul and even then very little. Thus whereas food and nutrition has a very small effect on our human spirit, it has a large effect on our human soul and a major controlling effect on the biochemistry of the body. The roots of illness can grow from the body to the soul or from the soul to the body and spirit, or from the spirit to the soul and body.
All religions of the world deal with food in some way either directly or indirectly. The Bible has fasting and foods as part of its heritage. Green smoothies are very easy to make with many variations; just take a banana, at a cup of water, some other fruit if available, add some greens to it, such as lettuce, spinach, broccoli; and then other vegetables if desired and blend it up. The blending opens up the cell walls allowing the chlorophyll into the juice and making digestion easier.

Our physiology can be optimized through nutrition. There is a biochemical level that is a threshold putting our body on an optimum plateau of health. Everyone knows that junk food is bad for their body, and everyone knows that eating fruits and vegetables are healthy. Nutrition is the number one biochemical influence on degenerative diseases. Drugs can also have a biochemical influence but nutrition is what determines the health of a person and oftentimes it is instrumental in healing the person.
